16/17 Months

Kason,

Oh goodness, your little personality is really coming out, and it is such a joy to watch. You are as sweet as they come, and as stubborn as they come. Your little independent self is constantly striving to do whatever your big sister does. You even refuse to sit in a highchair at home now. No booster seat either...your tiny little head peeking over the table to see and reach your food makes me laugh every time!

Your favorite word these days? No! I can't help but think it is adorable when you say it while shaking your head and looking directly at me. Pretty funny coming from a little guy who thinks he is 13. ; )
You aren't just feisty though. You are also a snuggly little bear. When you ask us to pick you up (hold you), we tell you to lay down and you rest your little head on our shoulder...melts us every time!

We all love to hear you laugh. Lexi is a pro at it, especially in the car. Speaking of the car, you still hate being restrained. You do pretty good, but any length of time in the car seat, and you are not happy with us. You love being outside and swinging in the green swing, swimming, sliding, running, riding in the car, attempting the tricycle, and playing with your trucks in the sand.

My favorite word you say? Okay...it sounds a lot like "O-tay!" It might be the cutest thing I have ever heard!! Love it!! Your favorite person? PopPop...you walk into Nana's and Pop Pop's house and start saying, "Pop Pop, Pop PoP???" So sweet. You also love Nana, Gus, and Cody. Cody throws you in the air, and you give him an additional workout each day. Your favorite foods are chicken, bananas, oranges, yogurt, pretzels, french toast, strawberries, and steak.

You love tractors, trucks, cars, and balls...definitely all boy. We bought you a tractor book because you would not let go of it in the store, and you hadn't even had that thing for a week before the wear started to show on it. It makes sounds and you imitate those so much that you made your voice a little hoarse. Haha! You hear us count so often that you attempt to do the same and it is hilarious!

We can't wait to see what else you do in the coming weeks, months, and years. It is such a blessing to watch you learn and grow, and we are so excited God chose us to be your parents. We love you little Kasonator.

XOXO,

Mommy, Daddy, & Lexi

Kason-13 Months

Kason-- My little man, you are 13 months old! This has been a big month for you! You are officially on the move! You have been taking a step or two for a while, but you took three steps on February 13 in front of your daddy, Nana, and me. A week later, you pretty much never looked back, You even try to run! I'm definitely getting my workout in these days! ; )

Your sign language vocabulary is also continuing to grow. I love all of these new tricks. You signed and said 'wawa' (water) on February 21, blew Nana a kiss with sound on February 18. You continue to do your other signs of baby, milk, dog, more, hi, and bye.

You LOVE playing outside especially now that you're walking. You do NOT like coming in, understandably. Your favorite things to play with are water, trucks/cars/airplanes, balls, and the cozy coupe outside. Typical for a boy, you manage to find the sticks, rocks, and dirt. I love it! You also enjoy going in and out of the playhouse outside, but not before you ring the door bell each time! Your favorite thing to look at in the car is your green trucks book you got at one of your well-child visits. You could stare at that thing for hours!

You don't go back to the doctor until 15 months so I am not sure on height/weight. You wear 12-18 month clothes, but have a hard time with pants because you're waist is tiny.

You love when your daddy gets home and make sure you get his attention until he is able to pick you up and give you lots of hugs to satisfy the two of you. I love seeing the relationship between you and Lexi continue to grow. You still think she is the funniest thing ever. She's not sure what to think sometimes now that you're walking and into ALL of her stuff, but she does enjoy getting to hold your hand and walk you places. The other day, you two left my sight at Nana and PopPop's house. When I rounded the corner of the hallway, I caught the back of both of you, hand in hand, headed to the playroom to play. Melt.My.Heart!!

I'm so excited for the next few months. We have some fun stuff planned, and I know you will LOVE it!

XOXO,

Love you to the moon and back!

Kason-14/15 Months! (April 7/May 7)

Sweet little Kason,

Oh, how I absolutely LOVE this age! You surprise us each day with your new tricks, words, expressions, and blooming personality! It's always right after the one-year mark when I can see the brain just exploding in my little ones. Love, love, LOVE it!

Stats: 32 inches- 75%, 18.6 pounds- not sure on percentile, but you did lose a pound...your doctor thinks it is more than likely because of how active you are, but we are keeping an eye on it just to be sure...

You can mimick what a fish, dog, cat, monkey, owl, & lion do. You're still cuddly, but also a climber, runner, wild little man. You love to dance (spinning around in circles) when we play music, attempt to sing, attempt to jump while watching Lexi, and you do flips from one of our chairs to the other.

You love your Nana, PopPop, and Cody. Cody throws you up (carefully) in the air and catches you, and you can't seem to get enough of it! When you go to any of these three, you won't come back to me. You stick your hand out as though you're pushing me away while saying (in a sweet little voice),  "Nooo." You still crack up at Lexi, but can also get your feelings hurt if she doesn't want you to play with something of hers. You even told her off one day at the zoo when you guys were 'fighting' over who sat where in the wagon. You daddy and I had to turn our heads from laughing so hard.

We can't get enough of your adorable personality, and look forward to the summer months to see you in your element--outside and playing in the water!

XoXo,

Mommy, Daddy, & Lexi

Lexi's 1st Birthday Party

Better late than never, right? Oops!!

Lexi's first birthday party theme was 'You are my sunshine.' We had lots of fun planning for this party and knew we wanted lots of bright colors for our little ball of joy. My dad made a lemonade stand, Keith went along with my quest to find the perfect old wooden high chair and painted it pink, and Nicole and Andrew snapped all of the pictures. I'll let the pics do the talking...

2nd Birthday Party Coming soon.... Theme: Minnie Mouse!
