Catching Up...5 months!

Happy 5 months Baby Lexi!! Can't believe it on one hand, and on the other, not sure what we did before you were here! You are becoming SO much fun! Not sure how much you weigh right now since you don't go back to the doctor until next month, but you are wearing mostly 3-6 month clothes with the occasional 0-3 outfit that I can't let go of still fits. You giggle nearly every day, but it varies on what you think is funny. You still love to stand, and get irritated when your legs are too tired and give out on you. You still love to be outside and go on walks.

You are loving your new toy, Sophie the giraffe. You also enjoy playing with your pacifier strap, red ball, Bella Butterfly, and eating reading books. You aren't quite sure of strangers right now, but you are fine as long as you can see us still. You are scared of the sound of the blender.

Tummy time doesn't last very long anymore because you usually roll over to your back soon after being placed on your tummy. You have started to scoot off of your play mat....let the fun begin! ;) When you are tired, you play with your hair, tug at your ear, and rub your eyes. You only take your binky when you are sleepy. Picture Dump/17 & 18 weeks

I'll probably have a few of these soon because I have not blogged in so long, and Lexi is actually 20 weeks now, but I'm behind, so here goes...

14, 15, 16 weeks!

I'm behind so this is a picture dump...

I can't help but look at these pictures and think, where did my tiny little baby go? I'm convincing myself that the pictures make her look bigger than she is (really, they do...). At the same time, every single day is new. Each day is filled with pure joy, laughter, smiles, and milestones. I am loving every stage of this baby's life.

13 weeks & 3 months

My precious baby is 3 months old! She turned 3 months old just one day after 13 weeks so the posts are combined this time. This makes me so very sad, and happy at the same time! She is SO much fun right now!

Dear Lexi,

You continue to be so much fun and you are such a blessing to your daddy and me. It seems like you change over night, and learn something new each day! We love to hear you talk!
You are starting to talk more and more, and you are still very fascinated with your hands...and now your feet too!
You have THE cutest fake cry, and such a sad real cry. You reach for toys, grab your feet, and play with your hair.

You still fight your sleep during the day, but not nearly as bad. You are starting to nap around the same times each day. Your happiest times are in the morning, but you are pretty happy the rest of the day too. You are still wearing 0-3 month clothing, and can fit into some newborn shorts & skirts, because you are still long & skinny. You sleep for 4-5 hour stretches at night right now.

We still can't believe you are ours, and continue to absorb every second with you. We thank God for you every day! How did we get so lucky to be able to call ourselves your parents?!

12 weeks

Lexi is actually 13 weeks now, but I'm a little late posting the 12 weeks, so the 13 weeks post will come soon!

Just hanging out

This is how we spend about 2/3 of our day...playing with our new favorite toy...our hands!

2 days before Lexi turned eleven weeks old, I had her on her tummy for 'tummy time.' She has been raising her head like a pro and immediately rolled to her back. I celebrated with her for a minute before running and telling Keith with tears in my eyes. He followed me into her nursery, and being her biggest cheerleaders, we cheered her on. She decided it'd be better to wait to show us a second time. ;) After all, she had already been showered with lots of cheers, hugs, and smiles today for doing it just once.

Alright Lexi, you can officially STOP growing!!! Seriously, it's already been 10 weeks? sigh.

7 & 8 weeks!

Lexi is really starting to smile more and more! I love her gummy grin. She cracks me up every day. My cheeks sure do get a workout from all the smiles she and my husband bring to my life. I have been cracking up lately because Keith will be holding her while she is sleeping, and the second that her eyes open, even if she is still sleeping, Keith shouts, "Lexi!!! Hi baby!" It's almost as though he stares at her every few seconds, and the millisecond that he catches her opening her eyes...BAM! Baby has been woke up!

She really fights sleep at times, and we have come up with a few solutions that work...one is her favorite blanket! So glad we have 2 of these that are very similar...the problem is that they are FLEECE...and it is in the triple digits here daily right now!

We booked our flight & hotel for Pennsylvania in August. Lexi will be a little over 3 months, so any and all advice any of you have for traveling with a 3 month old, send my way! I'm a bit nervous, but excited to tag along for Keith's medical boards.

Random...  my adorable king charles cavalier spaniel just got groomed for the first time because he was in rough shape due to him playing so hard all day with my parent's dogs. I'm not so sure he looks better now...his ears and tail are long, while the rest of his fur is short. I think he knows he looks bad. Poor guy! At least it will grow back...now on to the pictures...

Take one more picture, and watch what I'll do with this fist!
