13 weeks & 3 months

My precious baby is 3 months old! She turned 3 months old just one day after 13 weeks so the posts are combined this time. This makes me so very sad, and happy at the same time! She is SO much fun right now!

Dear Lexi,

You continue to be so much fun and you are such a blessing to your daddy and me. It seems like you change over night, and learn something new each day! We love to hear you talk!
You are starting to talk more and more, and you are still very fascinated with your hands...and now your feet too!
You have THE cutest fake cry, and such a sad real cry. You reach for toys, grab your feet, and play with your hair.

You still fight your sleep during the day, but not nearly as bad. You are starting to nap around the same times each day. Your happiest times are in the morning, but you are pretty happy the rest of the day too. You are still wearing 0-3 month clothing, and can fit into some newborn shorts & skirts, because you are still long & skinny. You sleep for 4-5 hour stretches at night right now.

We still can't believe you are ours, and continue to absorb every second with you. We thank God for you every day! How did we get so lucky to be able to call ourselves your parents?!

Here are some pics I had fun taking of you. I am still learning how to use my camera better, and you make my pics look even better!

XOXO,
Mommy & Daddy

Lexi's first race!

This past weekend Lexi participated in her very first road race. Let's just say she dominated the 2-4 month age group category AND the stroller division! She absolutely LOVES going running with us! Of course we took pictures to document this monumental day in her life. ; )
Scoping out her competition...

Her intimidation face

After the run...winning your age group is exhausting!

Many more races in her future...

11 weeks!

In love with this little smirk!

Yup. I'm a big deal around here. At least, that's what they tell me.

Just hanging out

This is how we spend about 2/3 of our day...playing with our new favorite toy...our hands!

2 days before Lexi turned eleven weeks old, I had her on her tummy for 'tummy time.' She has been raising her head like a pro and immediately rolled to her back. I celebrated with her for a minute before running and telling Keith with tears in my eyes. He followed me into her nursery, and being her biggest cheerleaders, we cheered her on. She decided it'd be better to wait to show us a second time. ;) After all, she had already been showered with lots of cheers, hugs, and smiles today for doing it just once.

Yup, I'm 'THAT' Mom...

  • I could hold my baby all day long and never grow tired of it.
  • I stare at my baby while she sleeps sometimes (okay, ALL the time) to make sure she is breathing.
  • I'm a bit on the overprotective side with her, and don't like her to be out of my sight. She'll love this when she's sixteen though, right?
  • I get sad everytime she makes a sad face with her bottom lip.
  • I sit in the backseat next to her to make sure she is cool enough and the sun isn't in her eyes, oh...and to be on binky patrol since you know, when that binky falls out, you have about 5 seconds to reinsert. True story.
  • I bug my sister and husband ALL the time about medical-related symptoms I see (or think I see anyway).
  • I spend extra time with her after the early morning feedings just because I am still soaking in the fact that God gave her to Keith and me to love and take care of.
  • I find it amazing that God instilled this sense of love & protection in not only humans, but animals too.

So I know some of these may be over the top to some, But...I'm convinced she is only little once, and so it is perfectly normal for me to be like this. I'll keep telling myself that anyway. ; )
